From 1809 census in Le Platin:
Pierre AUCOIN, widower of Felicite LEBLANC

from G Doucet book p 333:

Pierre Aucoin, son of Jean Aucoin and Marguerie Pitre.

Pierre Aucoin was deported to Virginia from la Riviere-aux-Canards area of the Minas-Grand Pré region of the local St. Joseph's parish in a place called le Village des Aucoin. The Virginians however did not want anything to do with him and with the other Acadians who landed there. The following year they transported Pierre along with many other Acadains to Bristol, England, where they were placed in detention centers as political prisoners. The Seven Years' War between England and France (1756-1763) was then in progress. Pierre, while in detention, not to be denied, married Félicité LeBlanc and it was there, in Bristol that their son Anselme was born. At the end of the war, the King of France took pity on the Acadains who had survived, including Pierre, Félicité and Anselme, and had them transported to Plouer, France where they remained for nearly ten years.

<jack writes> Pierre Simon was probably born in Plouer France</jack writes>

Hearing of one Charles Robin, and of his interest in expediting the return of Acadains to l,Acadie, they then went to Jersey Island. The story goes that they returned to l'Acadie on one of the Robin ships, only to discover another war shortly thereafter, namely the War of American Independence. this caused them to fear being newly deported as a result of which they moved on several occasions. Eventually they went to Prince Edward Island and finally to Chéticamp where Pierre, Félicité and Anselme were in a small group of Chéticamp;s original settlers.
